Young Russian conductor Vasily Petrenko, whose tutors included Esa-Pekka Salonen, was the youngest to be appointed principal conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, where he has made a tremendous impact, increasing attendance and funding. He was also recently named principal conductor of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. Clearly a talent to watch.
This weekend he will be performing Beethoven's Piono Concerto No. 1 and Tchaikovsky's Manfred Symphony. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit http://www.laphil.com/
