The hilarious duo Tenacious D will perform at 7:00 tonight (Feb 2) in a Haiti benefit concert at the Wiltern. Proceeds will go to the Partners in Health Initiative, working to relieve those affected by the recent earthquake.
Tenacious D, formed in 1994, consists of frontman Jack Black and his amiable sidekick Kyle Glass. Their music has often been called "mock rock" focusing more on comedic storytelling than the art of rock and roll. Known especially for their side-splitting antics, their act will surely bring considerable attention to this benefit.
The "friends" due to perform include Frank Black of the Pixies, James Mercer of the Shins, Ben Stiller, Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Aimee Mann, Maya Rudolph, Tig Notaro, Bob Odenkirk and Patton Oswalt.
Tickets are still on sale at http://www.livenation.com/edp/eventId/417621 and prices range from $15 to $74.50. Don't miss this exciting show tonight!
