The Caltech-Occidental Symphony Orchestra, directed by Allen Gross, will be performing next Saturday and Sunday, November 13th and 14th. The Saturday performance begins at 7:30 pm in Thorne Hall at Occidental College, and the the Sunday performance will be at 3:30 pm in the Ramo Auditorium at Caltech. The orchestra will be performing:
Overture to "The Merry Wives of Windsor" by Otto Nicolai
Symphony No. 4 by Felix Mendelssohn
and
Violin Concerto No. 1 by Dmitry Shostakovich
featuring violinist Lawrence Sonderling
Lawrence Sonderling is an instructor and alumni of Occidental College and has been a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since 1977. He is a fantastic violinist and is performing a truly exciting piece. The concert is free so bring your friends and family and come support your Oxy peers while enjoying some great music!
