Broken Bells

When the (eagle rock) producer Danger Mouse illegally sampled the Beatle's White Album and mixed it with the vocals from Jay Z's Black album, and released it online for free, it was a huge hit and Danger Mouse became a symbol for the pastiche model of internet art. A high profile law suite against him cemented his fame. His next big success was the song Crazy, created with Cee-lo from Goodie Mob, which was a radio smash and made him a household name. Never one to settle in one style or genre, DM has now hooked up with indie pop icon the Shins' James Mercer. This unlikely duo has recently recorded an album under the band name Broken Bells. You can listen to two songs from that album here

Tonight, february 19, the band will be playing their very first gig in Los Angeles at the bootleg theatre. This is an exciting chance to hear a top-rate collaboration present their material in public FOR THE FIRST TIME. the show was only announced last night, and will surely sell out at the door. If you can make it to the Bootleg Theatre tonight, make an effort because it will definitely be a memorable evening.
